Minimizing Re-Injury With Physical Therapy
The first thing every athlete wants to know after an injury is when they can return to their sport. There are many different circumstances that determine the answer to that question.
Healing after an injury, is a long and hard process. Everyone’s recovery is different. Knowing where you’re at and understanding your capabilities is important. Remember, returning to play too soon can cause re-injury.
“Even though you may feel like you're ready, it's important to test yourself and truly see what the differences are between your healthy and your surgical side.”
There is a high risk of athletes re-injuring themselves and that is what we want to avoid. During the healing process, it is very important to attend physical therapy sessions. This will reduce the risk of re-injury and allow the patient to be ready for return to sport.
